So the last time I posted about the Pineview Challenge Cup I asked "Where are the competitors?"
Well. My question was answered and we had a 15 car field (the biggest turn out yet.) One of them being former European WRC competitor Takis Skaltsas. He has been my closest rival but further improvements to his E46 M3 and his amazing driving skill has pushed him WELL beyond what I am capable of. As usual, Takis put on a driving clinic. Showing us all just how fast you can be in the 200 tread wear "Track Class". He put down a 1:14.1. Which puts my fastest lap ever (1:14.7) to shame.
It was hot. Track temps were up around 130 degrees and everyone was sliding. I managed a 1:15.4. Which is slower than I was hoping for but still good enough for 2nd place in the Track Class.
The next event is scheduled for July 24th from 6-8pm rain or shine. I think you would be crazy not to participate but spectators are welcome.
