I wanted to create a post about Time Trials for people who are curious about the progression from High Performance Driving Education (HPDE). After working through NASA's HPDE program you come to the point where you have multiple different options for the future.
Those options being:
-Stay in HPDE 4 (Highest level)
-Become a Certified NASA Instructor
-Advance to Competition School; then Wheel to Wheel race
-Participate in Time Trials
Although all these options are perfectly fine Time trials offers you a unique opportunity to compete within the NASA community without building or buying a fully prepped and caged race car.
In 2019 NASA Time Trails will consist of a classification system based on vehicles power to weight ratio and other additional modification factors per class. These classes range from a unlimited class to something that a track prepped Miata would fit right in.

If you are interested in Time Trails I have attached a link to NASA's forms and rules of TT which are used universally throughout each NASA region.
